My thoughts about the comings and going of this trip are getting mashed up. I am taking clothes for what I intend to do, I am thinking horrible exchange rate for what I intend to eat and pay admission to.I am trying to be linear about the tasks I need to finish. Make sure Gracie's (the dog) schedule is in place, weed out the garden furiously, get the house info ready for our house sitter. Who is OUR electrician ? Names and numbers to get, decisions about clothes, books. Which pens ??
I think this will be one of the most diary like posts I do. I have not much to be specific about except my bag. Gary is trying to decide which and what kind of bag to take. Not moi. Although demographically I feel I am expected to have something with a brand name and definitely on wheels I am taking my Courierware Travel Bag ( http://courierbags.com). It is (surprise) a messenger style bag with many compartments. I have both carried it on and checked it. In spite of the fact that it has no zippers I have never lost anything or had anything stolen from it.
I know people love their wheely bags and the one time I used one it was great in the airport but totally unmanageable in the world. I had a tennis match neck ache from looking back at my bag to guide it and turning around to watch my step. Even though the Courierware bag is all black the shape makes it easy to spot on a luggage carousel if I have checked it. The bags are made in Randolph Vt which has had some horrible news happenings this week.
That makes me remember that worlds collide at the oddest times.
Unless we have a transportation fiasco I will be in another time zone for my next post. We leave at 11pm and are promised two meals. Midnight snack and breakfast?
